Latamber

Latamber is a town and Union council of Karak District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is an important town in the district of Karak and is located 29 kilometres to the east of Bannu at 33°6’33N 70°52’3E.

This city is located in the district of Karak in the province of Khyber-Pashtunkhwa in the north-west of Pakistan. To the north and north-east are the Khattak hills the Bannu Town is in its west, to the east is the town of Karak and in south it has thall desert. This city is located approximately 172 kilometers south of the provincial capital Peshawar and about 30 kilometers to the east of Bannu.

The residents of this city are nearly all Khattaks and other tribes are also living here like Qazi, Paracha, Bhittani and Qurishi. Latamber has a large number of population of nearly about 70,000 people. There are also small villages including in the Union Council of Latamber. The population of the small villages attached to is about 100,000. The villages in Latamber Union Council are Warana, Mandawa, Kamali Banda, Tor Adam Banda, Adam Banda, Wali Khan Banda, Sharif Wala, Akar Wala and Soor Dag.

The are several educational institutions in Latamber.

A fort of Mela takes place in Latamber on Wednesday. This is very popular mela in this city. Every type of products are available in cheap prices in this mela. The people of this city buy their weekly fruits, vegetables and other products from this mela. The fruits and vegetables comes to this mela are mostly from Bannu and Serai Naurang Sabzi Mandi.

Places to Visit:

There are also some places in Latamber to visit. It includes Shahedan Baba which is a famous picnic point, it is situated at the distance of 6 km from Latamber town. It is situated in between the Spinghar hills and is popular with the youth of Latamber. Shaheed Neeka is a famous tomb on the banks of Latamber nalla, approximately 2 km south of Latamber town.

DAK BANGLOW is also an old building which can be visited. It is a historical place. It was built by the British Government as a Rest House for Dignitaries. As this place have no maintainance but still it is in good position

Malmasti Gandi is a small dam here. It is also a historical place as it was built by Mulla Mast Neeka with the help of Gens.

Masha Daba and Seerri Khazay were the very known resources of water in the very old ages for all Latamber town.
